Ford Building

Bloomington is charming, safe, progressive, affordable, and one of America's best college towns. Now boasting a new hospital complex, vibrant arts community, storied history, generous social services, nearby feeder towns, Indiana's largest lake, national forest and other abundant outdoor attractions.

The Bloomington Convention Center is located 302 S. College Avenue, just two blocks from the community's vibrant downtown square, is the ideal venue where people come together. They often return year after year, to share experiences and build lasting traditions in a place that feels familiar and trusted.

Constructed in 1923 as a Ford automobile assembly plant, the building became a landmark and hub of activity where locals came to glimpse the latest cars. Changing economic conditions and community revitalization efforts led to the development of the Bloomington Convention Center on the site. Opening in 1991, the venue continues to serve as a hub of innovation and connection for community members.

After hosting more than 14,000 business and social events, today the venue is currently undergoing an exciting expansion and renovation scheduled to open in February 2027.
