history
The building dates from 1923 when it was originally designed and built by Henry Ford as a Model T assembly plant and showroom. It became a place people gathered to see the latest automobiles as they rolled off the assembly line. This area of downtown became known as the Ford Corner and was the place to be on Saturday morning

Continuing the building's tradition of community popularity, the community came together to transform it into the Bloomington/Monroe County Convention Center in 1991. The meeting and event space immediately drew thousands of people for statewide association events, regional public events, corporate recognition and family social events.
